ANKARA – Romanian citizens will soon be able to diversify their travel options as Turkey’s government has just unveiled a groundbreaking policy change.
In a presidential decree, it has been confirmed that Romanian citizens can now enter Turkey without the hassle of obtaining a visa. This move offers Romanian nationals a 90-day stay within every 180-day period, encouraging them to explore Turkey’s captivating blend of history and modernity.
Interestingly, the relaxation doesn’t extend to Turkish citizens visiting Romania, who will still need to obtain visas. This development comes amidst a series of aviation and tourism updates worldwide, with countries like China and Sri Lanka also offering visa-free access to boost post-pandemic recovery efforts.
It is to be highlighted that China and Thailand are also opening up to the outside world while offering visa-free entry to citizens from different countries. The basic rationale behind the relaxation of visa restrictions is the fact that global economies have suffered a blow due to social distancing protocols triggered by the pandemic.
As the social distancing protocols have bene lifted, nations are trying to woo tourists to generate revenues and spur the economy. The trend can be seen in the policies introduced by countries in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia also.
