Missing Islamabad student found dead at Margallah Hill’s Trail 5

ISLAMABAD – A student from Islamabad, who went missing during hiking at Trail 5 a day earlier, was found dead in a ditch in Margallah Hills on Monday.  

The student identified as Muhammad Taaha and his friends went for hiking on Sunday when he disappeared. His friends tried to reach him out through mobile phone but it was switched off.

Later, Islamabad police launched a search operation to trace the missing student. However, the boy’s body was found by the officials of the Forest and Environment Department in a ditch on Monday morning.

They informed the police about the body. The missing teenager’s uncle has identified the body as efforts are underway to retrieve the body from the ditch.

It is suspected that the 15-year-old slipped into the ditch during hiking trip and lost his life.

Earlier, a case was registered regarding alleged abduction of Taha on his father’s complaint. Following the registration of the case, police had launched a search operation at Trail 5 and adjacent areas to find him.
