Pakistan Railways hikes fares of passenger trains [Check New Ticket Prices]

LAHORE – Pakistan Railways has announced another increase in fares of passenger trains in line with rising petroleum prices in the country.

It has jacked up the ticket prices by one percent with effect from July 19, 2024 (Friday). So, the new ticket prices will be set in line with latest revision.

The new fares will be applicable to all classes including Economy, AC Standard, AC Business, and AC Parlour, said a notification issued by the railways department.

The ticket prices of Mail, Express, Intercity passenger trains, and all trains operated under public-private partnerships will be increased.

All Divisional Superintendents have been instructed to update the fare table accordingly.

Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan

Earlier this week, the federal government increased petrol and diesel prices by Rs9.99 and Rs6.18 per litre for second half of July 2024.

A notification issued by the Ministry of Finance said the petrol price has been jacked up by Rs 9.99 per litre, with the new price fixing at Rs275.60 per litre.

The price of high speed diesel has been increased by Rs 6.18 per liter and the new price has been set as Rs283.63 per litre.
