ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has announced new time for delivery of passport to overseas Pakistanis amid complaints of delays.
Dar was chairing a meeting in Islamabad to discuss matters pertaining to welfare of overseas Pakistanis. DG Immigration and Passports, secretary foreign affairs, interior and other officials attended the meeting.
It was decided to immediately withdraw the circular dated June 5, 2024, suspending the issuance of Pakistani passports to individuals seeking asylum abroad.
The applicants have been facing extraordinary delay in issuance of passports for months as it took up to 5 months in issuance of passports in normal category.
