Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti canceled the non-objection certificates (NOCs) for failing housing developments in Gwadar and suggested bringing in new investment firms through an open process.
According to details, he gave the order on Wednesday during the 29th meeting of the Gwadar Development Authority’s (GDA) governing board.
The Smart Port City Project, the Gwadar Master Plan, the Safe City Project, and challenges with infrastructure and the environment were among the many significant topics that were covered in the discussion. Both GDA’s long-term plans and short-term accomplishments were examined.
In order to make Gwadar a developed, internationally renowned metropolis, the Chief Minister underlined the significance of cross-departmental collaboration with comprehensive planning. He emphasized the importance of giving local communities’ interests first priority, especially when it comes to the shipbreaking yard projects and the master plan, taking into account the concerns expressed by the fishermen and locals.
Chief Minister Bugti reaffirmed that Gwadar has worldwide significance in addition to being crucial for the development of Pakistan and Balochistan. He emphasized that innovative projects are necessary to ensure that local populations are informed and consulted in the development process as well as to foster an environment that is conducive to investment for foreign businesses.
Due to their interdependence, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for a clear separation of duties between the Public Health Engineering Department and the GDA while addressing the issue of clean drinking water for Gwadar inhabitants. This delay has made things worse.
Along with lessening the GDA’s reliance on money from the provincial government, he also gave the organization instructions to improve its capacity for generating revenue. To accomplish this, he placed a strong emphasis on developing profitable projects.
CM Bugti also gave the Quetta Electric Supply Company instructions to compile a feasibility study for building a feeder in order to guarantee a steady supply of electricity to the Gwadar Hospital.
Following the meeting, CM Bugti, MNA Malik Shah Gorgage, Gwadar MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rahman, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan of Balochistan, and Chairman Mir Pasand Khan Buledi of the Gwadar Port Authority gave relief checks to flood victims in Ormara tehsil.
