An unidentified man is suspected of shooting and killing a female teacher at a private school in Multan on Wednesday.
Safoora Taimur, the victim, was attacked while traveling to her school in New Shah Shams Colony.
Police said that at about 7:30 in the morning, she was being followed by an unidentified male who pulled out a revolver and shot her in the head. The shooter took her cell phone and left the area after the incident. Safoora Taimur passed away instantly after collapsing to the ground.
The suspect had been following the teacher for some time, according to CCTV footage that was shown on multiple television programs.
Before the deadly attack, the victim turned to look at him two or three times, as if knowing that he was being followed. The attacker’s approach, the deadly shooting, and their getaway with her phone are all seen on camera.
Bushra Parveen, the mother of the victim, made a complaint, and the Shah Shams police took notice and opened a case against the unnamed culprit.
The culprit is being sought after by the police, who have opened an investigation.
In an initial statement, Superintendent of Police (SP) Tahir Majeed of the cantonment division hinted that there was a possibility the suspect and the deceased knew one another.
He claimed that the fact that the bullet targeted her head suggested that the shooting wasn’t accidental.
In order to identify the attacker, he claimed that the police are examining the CCTV tape.
