To facilitate sustainable development and protect agricultural land, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has prohibited the construction of new private housing projects in the five tehsils of Rawalpindi, Gujarkhan, Taxila, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta.
Until the RDA’s Pre-Urban Site Development Plan is authorized in its entirety, this prohibition will be in effect.
To promote ecologically conscious urban expansion, the RDA has directed investors and developers to cease buying land in these tehsils for new housing developments.
Furthermore, without permission, developers are not allowed to divide property for housing projects sponsored by investors.
Agricultural zones, residential areas, green zones, and environmentally sensitive areas will all be identified in the Pre-Urban Site Development Plan, according to RDA officials.
Penalties for violators of the ban will be severe, ranging from large fines to legal action and the removal of any unapproved structures.
The authority puts a lot of effort into encouraging eco-friendly residential development and protecting sensitive ecological zones and productive agricultural land in order to achieve a balance between urban growth, environmental preservation, and the protection of natural resources.
The RDA seeks to protect agricultural land and delicate natural areas while advancing environmentally friendly development.
The administration hopes that by enforcing this prohibition, it would promote balanced urban expansion that is considerate of the environment and natural resources.
