Bushra Bibi reaches Bani Gala after Adiala Jail stint

Former first lady and wife of Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, on Thursday reached her residence at Bani Gala after she was released from Adiala Jail.

Bushra was arrested on accusations she handled state gifts improperly. She was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday after submitting surety bond worth Rs1 million.

Khan is serving prison term in the same Toshakhana case. The PTI founder is expected to show up in the court at 3pm to have a virtual meeting with his lawyers.

as been languishing in Adiala Jail since August 2023 in the aftermath of his arrest in the Toshakhana case.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has accused the couple of retaining an expensive Bvlgari jewellery set gifted by a foreign leader — including a necklace, earrings, bracelets, and rings — at a low price, causing a significant loss to the exchequer.
