Security forces in Pakistan conducted several operations across the country, resulting in the deaths of militants and the injury of security personnel.
In North Waziristan, a terrorist attack during a clearance operation in the Muhammad Killay area of Mir Ali led to an explosion, injuring five security personnel, including a captain. The injured were taken to a hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. In response, security forces killed three militants in a follow-up operation after the explosion.
Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat, police gunned down a militant commander, Rehanullah alias Muntazir Aashna who was allegedly involved in the killing of an army cadet last year. The police operation took place in the rural area of Mir Alam Manjiwala, where militants were reportedly hiding.
A gunfight between militants and the police lasted for around 30 minutes, leading to the death of the commander. Police seized weapons, including an AK-47 assault rifle, magazines, and hand grenades from him.
Rehanullah was also linked to several criminal activities, including extortion and kidnapping. He and his associates had carried out an attack on a local mosque in October 2024, which resulted in the martyrdom of 19-year-old cadet Arifullah.
In a separate incident, two villagers were injured in a clash with terrorists in the same area. The villagers had managed to prevent a kidnapping attempt on one of their own, an Air Force employee, before police arrived. Additionally, a police officer was injured in a roadside bomb blast targeting a police van in the Qeemat Manjiwala area.
