Govt plans major civil servant transfers 

The government has decided to send a large number of civil servants to a surplus pool in line with the federal government’s ongoing right sizing exercise.

In response, the Establishment Division has directed the FBR to report all available vacancies in ministries, divisions, and departments for possible adjustments.

The FBR has instructed all Chief Collectors, Directors General, and Collectors of Customs to provide details of vacant positions under their administrative control. This includes Customs field formations, Collectorates, and Directorates. Offices of the Collector (Appeal/Adjudication) must submit their reports independently.

Authorities have been asked to compile and send information on vacancies under direct and promotion quotas to the Establishment Division. This step aims to ensure the timely placement of surplus employees.
