Check new Fitrana & Fidya rates for Eid 2025

The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has announced this year’s minimum Fitrana (Zakat al-Fitr) rate at Rs 220 per person, based on the current price of wheat. However, those opting for alternative food items must pay higher amounts, reflecting market rates.

The Fitrana and Fidya amounts for this year have been set based on staple foods. The minimum Fitrana is Rs160 if calculated using wheat prices. However, those wishing to donate other food items must pay Rs1650 for dates, Rs2500 for raisins, and Rs5000 for dried apricots.

Fitrana is an obligatory charity required from every Muslim before Eid prayers. Fidya is compensation for missed fasts due to illness or other valid reasons. The Fidya for 30 missed fasts varies from Rs6600 for wheat to Rs150000 for dried apricots.

If someone deliberately breaks a fast, they must either fast for 60 consecutive days or provide meals to 60 underprivileged individuals. Religious scholars emphasize that Fitrana and Fidya should be given according to one’s financial capability, ensuring that those in need receive adequate support before Eid.
