Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its intention to strongly oppose the upcoming federal budget through both parliamentary and public protests.
PTI’s senior leadership and all members of Parliament have been asked to attend the meeting. The main focus will be on raising a united voice against the budget inside Parliament and planning street-level protests if needed. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that the party completely rejects the proposed budget. He said there is no proper plan to reduce inflation or bring real financial discipline.
He also criticised the government for ignoring much-needed economic reforms. According to him, the country’s economy is already facing serious challenges, and this budget fails to offer any real solutions. Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Junaid Akbar, confirmed that PTI’s parliamentary team will meet today to discuss a joint plan. He said the new budget does not offer relief to the public and lacks any measures to stabilise the economy.
The opposition believes that the budget places more pressure on the common people while doing little to fix major economic issues. PTI plans to highlight these concerns during parliamentary sessions and through public demonstrations. With growing public worries about rising prices and poor financial planning, PTI aims to lead a powerful protest campaign in and outside Parliament to demand better economic policies.
