Pakistan has seen a 20.5 percent rise in seafood exports during the 2024–25 fiscal year, according to Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhary.
Federal Food Minister Junaid Anwar Chaudhary shared these figures while presenting the government’s annual report on seafood exports. He said China and Thailand were the biggest importers of Pakistani seafood. The minister credited the current government’s clear and effective export policy for the steady growth in this sector. He noted that seafood products like fish meal, prawns, mackerel, crab, and jellyfish are in high demand globally.
Junaid Anwar Chaudhary said Pakistan is now becoming a seafood export hub. He added that the government’s focus on value addition—processing products to increase their market worth—was a key reason for the boost in exports. The minister also appreciated the private sector’s efforts in helping expand seafood exports. He noted that international buyers are showing growing interest in Pakistani seafood due to improved quality and variety.
He highlighted that the government’s supportive policies and the private sector’s role together played an important part in reaching this level of success. Officials expect further growth in seafood trade if similar steps continue in future fiscal years.
