ITP launches crackdown on illegal parking in Islamabad

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has taken firm action against illegal parking across commercial areas and main roads of the federal capital, penalizing over 56000 drivers during the current year.

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has launched a strict anti-parking campaign on the orders of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The main aim is to reduce traffic problems and protect the rights of pedestrians. Special teams have been deployed in different parts of the city, especially in crowded commercial areas and main roads, to keep an eye on No Parking zones. These teams are also working to ensure that footpaths remain clear and easy to use for people walking.

During the operation, ITP fined and impounded several vehicles that were found parked wrongly outside designated areas or on sidewalks. Such actions often create traffic blockages and cause trouble for both drivers and pedestrians. Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider has ordered all zonal DSPs to take strong legal action against violators. He said strict implementation of parking rules is necessary to control traffic and keep the roads free from unnecessary congestion.

He clearly said that no one will be allowed to park in restricted areas or block walkways. Footpaths are made for people, not for vehicles, and those who break the rules will face action. The ITP has requested the public to follow traffic rules and use proper parking areas only. Cooperation from citizens is important to build a more organized and smoother traffic system in Islamabad.
