Summer vacations in Islamabad District Courts will begin starting from tomorrow, as per the latest update.
As per an official notification, court holidays will remain in effect from August 1 to August 30. However, regular judicial services will continue through a duty system set up by the concerned authorities. Throughout the vacation period, three judges will remain on duty each day in both the East and West court zones. These include an Additional District and Sessions Judge, a Civil Judge, and a Duty Magistrate who will be present daily to oversee court matters.
The courts will only hear emergency or urgent cases during the holidays. These may include bail applications, remand cases, or other time-sensitive legal matters that cannot be delayed. Routine proceedings will resume after the end of the vacation period. According to the notification, the session judges have already finalized and issued a duty roster for the entire month of August. This ensures that the court system continues to operate smoothly without any disruption in essential legal services.
Legal experts noted that such duty schedules during court holidays help maintain access to justice, especially in critical matters. This arrangement allows necessary cases to be heard without delay, even when regular court activities are paused. The duty judges will operate from designated courtrooms and follow a fixed timetable each day. The public has been advised to approach the courts only for urgent cases and check the duty roster before visiting. Officials have assured that court staff will also be available to assist in emergency cases as needed during the holiday period.
