Security forces neutralised three more terrorists in Balochistan’s Zhob district, bringing the total number of killed militants in the four-day anti-infiltration operation to 50 in Sambaza area along Pakistan-Afghanistan Border.
The operation took place in the Sambaza area, near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, between August 7 and 9. On the night of August 7-8, troops intercepted and killed 33 militants attempting to infiltrate into Pakistan. Following this, a sanitisation operation in the surrounding areas eliminated 14 more militants, raising the tally to 47. On the night of August 10-11, security forces launched another clearance operation in the outskirts of Sambaza. This action resulted in the deaths of 3 more Indian-backed Khawarij militants. Arms, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from their possession.
ISPR said the successful operations have dealt a significant blow to terrorist networks operating along the border. The recovered weapons and explosives were intended for attacks aimed at destabilising the region. The military’s media wing stated that security forces remain fully committed to defending the nation’s borders and preventing any attempts to disrupt Pakistan’s peace, stability, and progress. It added that strict surveillance and rapid response operations will continue in sensitive border areas to block infiltration routes and dismantle militant hideouts.
Officials emphasised that the coordinated counter-terrorism efforts were part of a larger strategy to ensure long-term security in Balochistan. The operations were conducted with precision to avoid civilian harm while neutralising threats posed by armed groups.
