Court extends Ducky Bhai’s physical remand in gambling case

A local court on Saturday extended the physical remand of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, for five more days in a case related to promoting gambling applications.

The accused was produced before Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo after completing a four-day remand. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency requested more time for investigation, and the court approved an additional remand. Meanwhile, the sessions court granted interim bail to Ducky Bhai’s wife, Aroob Jatoi, in the same case. The court barred authorities from arresting her until 30 August and directed her to join the investigation. The order came after the Additional Sessions Judge reviewed her bail application, with lawyers Irfan Kalyat and Raja Abdul Rahman Ranjha representing her. The court also asked the investigating officer to submit a progress report at the next hearing.

The case gained attention after NCCIA officials accused Ducky Bhai of acting as the country manager for an illegal gambling app and promoting several betting platforms through social media. Authorities said these promotions encouraged citizens to invest in gambling schemes, leading many to suffer heavy financial losses. According to the FIR, the investigation began on 13 June 2025 after reports emerged about social media influencers using their platforms for gambling promotions. The NCCIA has since been collecting evidence to establish the scope of the alleged network and any money laundering activities linked to it.

The case reflects growing concerns about the misuse of digital platforms to promote illegal online activities. The authorities are focusing on cracking down on such operations to protect users and prevent financial crimes. The investigation will continue, with the next hearing expected to review further findings.
