Good News: Major relief announced for Police officers

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, while visiting the National Police Academy (NPA), stated that raising police salaries is essential to improving officers’ morale.

He stressed that every police official deserves a respectable take-home pay and assured that efforts are underway to make this possible. During his visit to the National Police Academy (NPA), the minister issued necessary directions to Commandant Muhammad Idrees and inspected the conference hall, dining hall, training facilities, and other key areas of the academy.

While interacting with the Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) under training, Naqvi announced that officers would be allotted residential plots after successfully completing their training program. He added that the current batch is scheduled to visit Beijing, China, for a one-month professional training course that will help them enhance their skills and broaden their expertise.

The minister also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equipping the police with modern facilities in collaboration with the National Police Foundation. He made it clear that complaints about promotions will not be ignored and promised a transparent process for career progression. Earlier, Commandant Muhammad Idrees briefed the minister on administrative matters and training challenges faced by the academy.

Senior officials, including the deputy commandant and additional deputy commissioner of Islamabad, were also present during the visit. Through these initiatives, the interior ministry aims to improve the working conditions, welfare, and professional development of police personnel, ensuring they are better prepared to serve the public with efficiency and confidence.
