Iran Warns US against targeting supreme leader

Iran strongly condemned recent remarks by US President Donald Trump regarding its leadership, warning that any attack on the Supreme Leader would be considered an act of all-out war.

The warning came after Trump stated in an interview that it was “time to bring new leadership to Iran,” triggering a forceful response from Tehran. Iranian officials described the comments as provocative and a direct threat to the country’s sovereignty. They emphasized that such statements undermine diplomatic efforts and escalate tensions in the region. The Iranian president highlighted that the ongoing economic crisis in the country is largely driven by long-standing sanctions and external hostility, pointing to the United States and its allies as key contributors to the hardships faced by Iranian citizens.

Authorities in Tehran stressed that Iran remains committed to defending its national interests and would respond decisively to any external attempts to interfere in domestic affairs. They urged international actors to respect Iran’s sovereignty and avoid inflammatory rhetoric that could destabilize the region further.

The Iranian leadership also reiterated its stance on ongoing protests, stating that while it respects the right of citizens to voice concerns, external threats or interference will not be tolerated. Officials called on the international community to focus on constructive engagement rather than escalating tensions through public statements.

Analysts noted that the recent exchange reflects rising geopolitical friction between Iran and the United States. Experts say that both sides must exercise restraint and prioritize diplomatic channels to avoid a crisis that could affect not only the region but global stability. Meanwhile, Tehran continues to manage domestic challenges, including economic pressures and public discontent, while keeping a close watch on international developments that could impact its security and sovereignty.
