Petrol and diesel prices decrease in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack

Fuel prices in Odisha’s urban centers slightly dropped on Wednesday, the 18th of January, 2026.

Current prices in Bhubaneswar are set at Rs101.11 per liter for petrol and Rs92.69 per liter for diesel. Meanwhile, prices in the other urban center of Cuttack are set at Rs 101.26 for petrol and Rs 93.83 for diesel. The marginal decrease in fuel prices is a backdrop of global crude oil prices and market readjustments within the domestic economy.

According to experts, such fluctuations can be attributed to a series of international supply patterns and exchange rate fluctuations that have been influencing fuel prices in the Indian market. A minor decrease was noticed in fuel prices in some of the major cities of Odisha on Wednesday, January 18, 2026. Presently, a liter of petrol and diesel will cost Rs 101.11 and Rs 92.69, respectively, in Bhubaneswar. On the other hand, a liter of petrol and diesel in Cuttack will cost Rs101.26 and Rs93.83, respectively.

Although there is a slight drop in fuel rates, this could have a positive impact on daily commuters as well as small transport operators, although experts point out that fuel costs are still high compared to previous periods. Experts indicate that minor adjustments such as these would result in temporary cost relief but ultimately would create a stable market depending upon worldwide crude trends. The consumers have shown cautious optimism regarding the recent change and are hoping for further reduction in the coming weeks. The government is also closely observing the fuel supply chains as well as the international markets for a steady supply of fuel.
