Balochistan security forces successfully repelled a series of coordinated militant attacks across multiple districts on Wednesday.
Authorities said the swift response restored control within hours and prevented major casualties or damage. The attacks targeted law enforcement and security installations in Quetta, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kalat, Pasni, Gwadar, Mastung, Kharan, Tump, and Balicha. Officials described the incidents as part of a pre-planned campaign by militants aiming to create instability in the province.
In Quetta, armed assailants opened fire on a police van in Saryab Road. Police and Frontier Corps personnel responded immediately, killing four attackers and securing the area. In Nushki, militants attacked the Frontier Corps headquarters, but security forces forced them to retreat without breaching the facility. Dalbandin also saw explosions near the FC compound, which were quickly contained by security teams.
Similarly, in Kalat, gunmen targeted the Deputy Commissioner’s office and police lines but were pushed back, preventing further damage. Authorities reported attempted attacks in Pasni and Gwadar, where law enforcement successfully safeguarded security posts and civilian areas. Mastung, Kharan, Tump, and Balicha also faced grenade and small-arms assaults, all of which were repelled.
Officials said the attacks were carried out by banned militant groups, allegedly with foreign backing, following recent counter-terrorism operations that killed dozens of militants. Minor injuries were reported among security personnel, but no major installations were damaged.
Security forces emphasized their continued commitment to dismantling militant networks, protecting civilians, and maintaining stability in Balochistan. Authorities stressed that militant operations, including the so-called Herof 2.0 campaign, have repeatedly failed against professional security responses, leaving terrorist networks increasingly isolated. Pakistan stands united against terrorism, with authorities vowing to continue targeted operations and ensure safety for all residents across the province.
