Pakistan’s PM speaks with Iran’s president on the phone

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday, reaffirming during the conversation that Pakistan would “remain fully committed to its honest and sincere efforts to advance regional peace and security”.

He praised them for sending a high-level team to Islamabad on April 11-12, 2026. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf led the delegation, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi by his side. The visit sparked productive talks that strengthened bilateral bonds.

Sharif updated Pezeshkian on his recent meetings with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye. These chats helped forge consensus for regional stability through peaceful means. He also highlighted positive discussions with Iranian officials during Field Marshal Asim Munir’s Tehran visit earlier this week.
