Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced 460 scholarships for students from Balochistan for the academic year 2025–26, in a move aimed at promoting equitable access to higher education.
It is based on the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and aims at students during the academic year 2025–26. Within the scheme, intermediate, undergraduate, and MPhil/MS students with a Balochistan domicile can apply. The Punjab government is soliciting applications via the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund, which is primarily aimed at low-income and financially needy students in order that they might enrol in good educational establishments.
The scholarship plan was received with joy by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, who appreciated the move by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He described it as a big step in enhancing education opportunities and enabling students with average families to access higher education. He pointed out also that education is a basic right of all citizens and that the Balochistan government is undertaking reforms to ensure the education system in the province is robust.
