The Ruet‑e‑Hilal Committee is expected to meet on May 17, 2026, to confirm the sighting of the Dhul‑Hijjah moon and officially fix the dates for Eid‑ul‑Adha.
If the moon is sighted on May 17, Dhul‑Hijjah will begin on May 18 and Eid‑ul‑Adha will likely fall from May 27 to 29. In case the moon is not observed and Dhul-Qa-idah is 30 days, then Eid-ul-Adha will be moved to May 28-30. The official government calendar up to date anticipates Eid-ul-Adha holidays between May 27 and 29 (Wednesday to Friday).
When these days are added to the weekend (May 3031), the citizens could have a five-day long holiday. There are also instances where the holidays might have a six-day break in case the holidays begin one day before. Should Dhul-Hijjah start on May 19, Eid-ul-Adha will be on May 28-30 (Thursday-Saturday). This time also has the capacity to join with Sunday to form a four-day uninterrupted weekend.
