Punjab enforces new rules for wedding halls

Islamabad’s district administration has issued a strong warning to wedding hall owners about the one-dish policy.

Authorities now plan to register cases against marquee owners who break the law more than once. This move aims to end extravagance at wedding events and promote simple celebrations in the federal capital. The administration has stepped up efforts to enforce the federal government’s one-dish rule strictly.

Earlier warnings have ended, and the time for tough action has begun. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon released new orders to ensure full compliance across all venues. Under the new rules, officials will file direct cases against owners found guilty of repeated violations. If someone breaks the policy a second time, authorities will seal the marquee right away and arrest the owner.

They will also send violators to jail without delay. The administration warns that anyone trying to hold events in a sealed venue faces immediate arrest and heavy fines. This strict approach leaves no room for excuses and targets wastefulness head-on. DC Islamabad has instructed all Assistant Commissioners to check venues daily in their areas. They must act fairly against every violator, no matter who they are.

Police receive clear orders to arrest offenders on the spot and support the crackdown fully. This campaign aligns with the government’s broader savings drive. By limiting weddings to one dish, families save money, reduce food waste, and focus on meaningful gatherings. Simple ceremonies help ease financial burdens during tough economic times.

Residents welcome the push for modesty, as it curbs showy spending and encourages practical habits. The administration promises consistent enforcement to make the policy a success. Daily inspections and quick penalties will deter violations and build a culture of simplicity in Islamabad’s wedding scene.
