Schengen visa for Pakistani citizens: Here’s how to apply through Sweden

ISLAMABAD – The citzen of Pakistan can travel to Europe through the Schengen visa which provides access to over 25 European destinations and for that purpose, the visa can also be sought from Sweden.

The Schengen visa facility permits a maximum stay of 90 days, providing individuals with the chance to explore not only Sweden but also other enchanting European destinations.

Length of stay allowed

The Schengen visa provides a maximum stay of 90 days within the Schengen area, facilitating extended exploration for travelers.

Financial Requirement

The applicants are required to demonstrate a minimum bank balance covering a span of 6 months, with the bank statement bearing the signature and seal of the relevant bank officer.

Funds for a 30-day stay

For a 30-day visit to Sweden, Pakistani applicants must exhibit an equivalent of 2400 euros (1 euro = approximately 304.71) in their bank account.

Application Centers

The embassy of Sweden has clarified that citizens and residents in Pakistan who want to apply for a Schengen visa are referred to hand in their application at VFS Global in Bangkok, Yangon, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Cebu, Jakarta, Bali, Phnom Penh, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.

The Embassy of Sweden will not be able to assist or give information in any matters of entry permit or visa to the country the applicant chooses. After an application has been submitted to VFS Global, it is sent together with the passport to the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok for processing and decision.

Visa Fee

The Schengen visa fee for Pakistani citizens is 80 Euros and as far as the documentary requirements are concerned, applicants are mandated to provide proof of financial resources and establish their economic and social standing in their respective home countries.

It is to be mentioned that travel insurance and biometric data is also needed for the visa application and there are selected insurance firms which can be contacted for the visa as not every other insurance firm is eligible for providing the travel insurance. The list can be seen here but it is necessary that the insurance covers costs totaling at least EUR 30 000 and be valid in all Schengen countries and throughout your stay.
