Major relief for Punjab citizens as rules regarding driving licence relaxed

LAHORE – Traffic police in Punjab has taken extensive measures to make the process for issuance of driving licences easier and simple with the help of technology in order to facilitate the citizens.

Whether its online issuance of learner licenses or renewal of the permanent licenses, the authorities continue to introduce new measures to streamline the process.

In latest development, the traffic department has reduced the waiting time for retake of the sign test if an applicant fails in the first attempt.

The Lahore Traffic Police shared the development on X, formerly Twitter, stating that that the Motor Vehicle Rules 1969 have been amended to cut the waiting period.

What’s the New in Amendment

As per the amendment, the applicants, who fail the first e-sing test, will be able to reappear after 14 days as previously they had to wait for more than a month to retake the test.

Is it Applicable to Practical Driving Test?

No, the relaxation is not applicable to practical driving Test. You have to wait for 42 days for another attempt if you fail the driving test.
