RIYADH – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced opportunities for seasonal employment ahead of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, inviting interested individuals to apply for various roles essential for facilitating the religious journey.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced the commencement of applications for seasonal jobs related to the forthcoming Hajj, expected to host approximately 2 million Muslims worldwide. These roles are pivotal for ensuring the smooth execution of the pilgrimage, a significant aspect of Islam.
Applicants can submit their entries through the ministry’s official website, with the application window set to close on March 28th. Positions will be stationed in key cities including Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah, encompassing a range of responsibilities such as supervision, customer service, technical support, engineering, and transportation.
With the Hajj pilgrimage scheduled for June, the kingdom has already initiated agreements to facilitate the event, with the first Hajj flight having landed in Saudi Arabia. The preparations are expected to continue over the coming months to accommodate the influx of pilgrims. As far as Pakistan is concerned, the number of Hajj seats allotted to the country were around 179,000.
At present, Saudi Arabia is hosting Muslim pilgrims for the Umrah season, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, witnessing a significant surge in visitors to the country. The kingdom has announced that multiple Umrahs can not be performed during the holy month.
