Punjab Kisan Card registration 2024; here's how to apply

Registration for Kisan Card has finally commenced. The Punjab government-led initiative seeks to disburse various loans and subsidies of up to Rs300 billion on an annual basis.

According to the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Kisan Card “aims to consolidate recipient’s information for transparent and efficient implementation” of various endeavors.

The initiative envisages the procurement of PKR 150,000 worth of loans and subsidies to individual farmers in order to facilitate the purchase of agriculture inputs including seeds and fertilizers.

To this effect, Punjab Chief Minster Maryam Nawaz said eligibly farmers will be able to return these interest-free loans on easy installments spanning up to six months.

Kisan Card Eligibility

The Punjab government reportedly aims to empower some 0.5 million or 5 lac farmers through said agriculture initiative. Farmers owning up to 12 and a half acres of land are eligible for Kisan Card registration. The land must be registered with the concerned land record center as well.

Moreover, applicants shouldn’t have a running loan against their name. Defaulters will not be permitted in any case. Finally, those wishing to apply must have a valid CNIC with SIM registered on their own national identity card.
