A popular YouTuber, who was allegedly abducted by several “armed men”, has reached home safely, his lawyers confirmed on Monday.
Content creator Aun Ali Khosa, known for his satirical parodies with political undertones, was abducted from his home in Lahore on August 15.
Aun’s brother Ali Sher Khosa narrated ordeal in a post on X, saying a group of ten armed individuals forcibly took Aun from his apartment and expressed that such extreme measures only aggravated the situation.
Aun Khosa, who is recognized for his critiques of the current government and institutions, recently gained prominence with his satirical song “Bill Bill Pakistan.” The song highlights burden of inflated utility bills, struck a chord with many Pakistanis, especially given its release close to Independence Day.
On Monday, a little after midnight, Khosa’s lawyer Khadija Siddiqi shared a post on X saying: “Alhamdulillah, Aun Ali Khosa has been released! He has reached home!”
Another one of Khosa’s lawyers, Mian Ali Ashfaq, also confirmed his return home in a statement on X.
