A study by the Housing Department reveals that over 90% of housing societies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are operating illegally.
Sixty percent (495) of the 822 housing societies in KP are unlawful, according to a study by the Housing Department.
Additionally, just 80 housing organizations in the entire province are legitimate, while 247 housing societies, or 30% of the total, are unregistered, according to the research.
There are 254 illegal housing societies functioning in the Dera Ismail Khan division, making it the most impacted division.
In a different development, eight private societies in Lahore received notifications from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for improperly utilizing the name and emblem of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) without authorisation.
These eight societies advertised and sold plots in Lahore using the WAPDA brand, which was done illegally.
The Punjab Cooperative Housing Societies Joint Registrar has been contacted by the FIA to provide comprehensive information on these locations.
Legal action will be taken against any society that is seen selling plots under the pretense of being associated with government entities without the necessary authorisation, the agency has made plain.
