ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Monday slashed in fuel prices, effective October 1, 2024. Petrol prices will decrease by Rs 2.07, bringing the new rate to Rs 247.03 per liter. High-speed diesel (HSD) will see a reduction of Rs 3.40, now priced at Rs 246.29 per liter.
Additionally, the price of light diesel oil will be cut by Rs 1.03 to Rs 140.90 per liter, while kerosene oil will drop by Rs 3.57, now costing Rs 154.90 per liter.
It was reported that government was considering maintaining the current petrol price while implementing a slight decrease in the ex-depot price of HSD.
In the previous review, the government had slashed petrol prices by Rs 10, setting the rate at Rs 249.10 per liter, and high-speed diesel was reduced by Rs 13.06, bringing it to Rs 249.69 per liter, according to a notification from the Finance Division.
These adjustments reflect the government’s ongoing response to fluctuating global oil prices and aim to provide relief to consumers at the pump.
