New Admission Timeline for MBBS students under revised policy; Details inside

LAHORE – A new admission policy has been finalised for medical and dental colleges in Punjab after approval from the provincial cabinet. A specialized Healthcare Department was issued on Friday to implement the changes.

Major changes have been made in policy under limitation placed on students from capital city Islamabad, who will now only have access to three seats in medical colleges in country’s most populated region Punjab. This marks the end of their eligibility for open merit admissions in MBBS programs.

The application process for government medical colleges will open on October 21 and will close on November 4, 2024. For private medical colleges, applications will be accepted from November 5 to November 19, 2024.

State run dental college applications will be open from November 20 to December 4, 2024, and private dental colleges will accept applications from December 5 to December 19, 2024.

Classes for MBBS programs are set to commence on February 1, 2025, with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) courses starting on March 1, 2025. University of Health Sciences (UHS) is overseeing the admissions process for both medical and dental institutions in Punjab.
