Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has made the decision to add more public and private hospitals to the Sehat Card scheme’s panel in order to increase the number of free medical services available.
The Chief Minister has ordered immediate steps to add more hospitals to the Sehat Card scheme, ensuring free healthcare for residents across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He instructed the health department to prioritize hospitals that meet quality standards, focusing on locations near tehsil-level populations for better access.
A policy board meeting will soon be held to finalize these hospitals.
During a recent meeting with top health officials, including Health Adviser Ehtesham Ali and Health Secretary Syed Adeel Shah, the Chief Minister emphasized that improving healthcare in remote areas is a government priority.
The meeting also reviewed current financial needs and discussed further outsourcing of public hospitals under a public-private partnership model, with plans to ease the process through legal amendments.
Additionally, the government will provide free medicines for children with hemophilia in collaboration with Roche Pharmaceuticals, with costs shared equally by both parties.
