Ten Pak Army troops, two FC personnel martyred in Bannu checkpost attack

BANNU – A terror attack on security checkpost in Bannu was successfully repelled by brave sons of soil and 12 armed forces personnel lost their lives in the blast, ISPR said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants attempted to breach the checkpost by ramming a car loaded with explosives into the security wall.

The suicide blast caused a partial collapse of the protective wall, but the security forces responded quickly, preventing further damage and thwarting the militants’ efforts to infiltrate the post. Despite their swift action, the explosion resulted in the martyrdom of 12 soldiers.

The ISPR praised the bravery of the army personnel, acknowledging their courage in preventing further casualties and protecting the checkpost from further harm during the intense attack.

Those who were martyred are identified as Subedar Imran Ahmad Farooqi Shaheed (44) from Gujranwala district, Havaldar Mohammad Javed Iqbal Shaheed (29) from Sargodha district, survived by his wife, four sons, and a daughter.

Naik Tahamas Ahmad Shaheed (34) from Abbottabad district, Naik Basit Farid Shaheed (39) from Haripur district, Soldier Safdar Ali Shaheed (33) from Barkhan district, Soldier Asad Bashir Shaheed (32) from Kohlu district, Sepahi Ejaz Hussain Shaheed (33) , Soldier Atif Khan Shaheed (23) from Mianwali district, who served for one year, Sepoy Amanullah Shaheed (30) from Kirk district, Sepoy Shah Zaman Shaheed (22) from Lower Dir district.

Bannu attack once again highlighted the sacrifices made by armed forces in its ongoing efforts to protect the nation from terrorist threats. The loss of these brave soldiers serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in maintaining peace and security in the northwestern region.
