Sindh private schools banned from taking advance fees

The Sindh Education Department following instructions from Additional Director Rafia Javed has directed private schools to refrain from charging advance or additional fees beyond the specified timeline.

The academic year 2025-26 is set to begin on April 1, 2025, while matriculation examinations are scheduled to commence on March 15, 2025. To reduce the financial burden on parents, private schools are now instructed to collect tuition fees for matriculation students only up to April 2025.

For students advancing from pre-primary to Class IX and those moving from Class IX to Class X, schools are permitted to collect fees for June and July 2025 during April and May 2025, respectively. The guidelines also require the issuance of separate fee vouchers for each month to ensure transparency. Vouchers for June will remain valid until June 30, 2025, and those for July until July 31, 2025.

The circular emphasizes the importance of compliance, urging school principals and administrators to strictly adhere to these guidelines. It highlights the need to provide financial relief to parents, with non-compliance leading to strict action against violating institutions.

These directives are effective immediately, with adherence now mandatory for all privately managed schools in Sindh. This initiative is aimed at providing relief to parents while ensuring the proper implementation of the guidelines.
