Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (Comstech) and the University of Lahore on Sunday unveiled a joint fellowship programme to foster academic collaboration between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote innovation, talent, and academic exchange among OIC-member states. The program offers opportunities in various fields, including allied health sciences, engineering, technology, pharmacy, management sciences, social sciences, and humanities.
The program aims to bridge educational and research gaps within the Muslim world, focusing on developing future innovators and leaders who can address contemporary challenges. It also includes technical training for personnel working in science, technology, and engineering laboratories.
Comstech Coordinator Genera Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Choudhary highlighted the importance of this initiative, noting that it would empower Bangladeshi scholars and students with the skills and knowledge necessary to contribute to global development. The fellowship underscores the commitment of both Comstech and the University of Lahore to advancing education and professional development across the Muslim world.
The fellowship is open to Bangladeshi nationals aged 22 to 45 regardless of their country of residence, with exceptional academic records and a strong commitment to community service. The program covers tuition fees, round-trip airfare, a stipend, and free accommodation. Interested candidates can apply through the official websites of Comstech and the University of Lahore, with applications accepted until March 1, 2025.
