Massive Rs100m bank robbery in Karachi

In the biggest bank robbery of the current year, unidentified thieves stole valuables worth Rs100 million from the locker of a private bank located in Defence area of Karachi.

A bank locker theft was reported in Karachi, where valuables worth millions were stolen. The victim, Daniyal, stated that he had been using the locker since July 2010, storing diamond and gold sets, branded watches, and foreign currency.

On February 6, 2025, he placed valuables in the locker. However, when he visited the bank on February 19, he discovered that his locker had been removed. He immediately informed the bank staff, who launched a search operation inside the premises. During the search, empty jewelry pouches were found on the bank’s roof.

Daniyal reported the incident to the police, who registered an FIR at Darakshan Police Station. Investigators have started questioning the bank staff to determine how the locker was stolen.

Authorities suspect an inside job and are examining CCTV footage for clues. The case has raised concerns over bank security, with customers demanding stricter measures to protect their valuables.
