Son murders father for insurance payout

In a chilling incident within the jurisdiction of Thana Saddar Yazman, a son shot and killed his own father, allegedly for an insurance payout of Rs2.5 million.

According to police reports, the victim, Ghulam Shabbir, was shot dead by his son Zubair, who was reportedly under mental stress due to financial difficulties and his desire to get married.

As per the FIR, a woman, believed to be the mother of the girl Zubair wanted to marry, allegedly told him that he could only get the insurance money if his father died. Influenced by this advice, Zubair, along with his mother and a friend, got into a heated argument with his father. During the clash, Zubair allegedly opened fire on his father and fled the scene. Ghulam Shabbir was critically injured and died on the way to the hospital.

The incident was reported by a close relative of the deceased, who is a local landowner. After the complaint, police quickly registered a case and arrested Zubair. Authorities are now searching for the other two suspects involved in the crime.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected soon. This tragic case has shocked the local community and raised serious concerns about growing financial pressure on youth and the lengths some may go to in desperation.
