Pakistan’s UNGA delegation to be led by Shehbaz Sharif

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will lead Pakistan delegation to the high-level segment of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly beginning in New York on Monday. 

He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, ministers, and senior officials during this important visit. In his address, the Prime Minister will call on the global community to resolve the long-standing disputes of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine, where people continue to be denied their right to self-determination. He will also draw attention to the worsening crisis in Gaza and urge the world to take decisive steps to end the suffering of Palestinians.

Shehbaz Sharif will also speak on broader challenges that affect the international community, including terrorism, Islamophobia, climate change, regional security, and sustainable development. Officials said Pakistan will use this platform to highlight the importance of global cooperation to deal with these pressing issues.

Alongside the General Assembly session, the Prime Minister will attend several high-level events, including meetings of the UN Security Council, the Global Development Initiative, and a special session on Climate Action. These gatherings will allow Pakistan to share its perspective on peace, development, and climate resilience.

Shehbaz Sharif will also join a group of Islamic leaders in a meeting with U.S. President Trump to exchange views on regional and global peace and security. In addition, he will hold bilateral talks with several world leaders and senior UN officials to discuss mutual cooperation and issues of common interest. This visit gives Pakistan an opportunity to raise its voice for oppressed communities while also presenting its vision for peace, justice, and sustainable progress on the world stage.
