NCCIA moves against Rajab Butt in gambling case

Rajab Butt has become the latest YouTube creator to face action as National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against him for allegedly promoting betting apps.

The crackdown on digital influencers linked to gambling promotions has intensified as authorities move against another well-known content creator. The controversy began with the arrest of popular YouTuber Ducky Bhai, who was accused of promoting gambling platforms across online spaces. He remains in custody as investigators continue probing his alleged role, with multiple court hearings already held.

Now, attention has shifted to influencer Rajab, who faces formal charges registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Authority (NCCIA). According to the report, Rajab actively used his social media accounts to market betting services to followers, a practice authorities say misled unsuspecting users. Officials summoned Rajab to explain his involvement, but he did not appear, raising suspicions of deliberate non-cooperation. His absence eventually led investigators to escalate the matter and file charges, expanding the scope of the current crackdown on online gambling promotion.

Reports confirm that Rajab left Pakistan during earlier controversies and has remained abroad as cases against him grew. His decision not to return has further complicated the investigation. The NCCIA stressed that such activities violate national laws and exploit vulnerable audiences, especially the youth. The authority also reaffirmed its commitment to regulating online spaces and holding influencers accountable for promoting illegal platforms. The ongoing action marks a broader government effort to curb the promotion of gambling apps and websites across digital channels.

Officials said the crackdown will continue to ensure a safe online environment, warning that those misusing social platforms for unlawful activities will face strict consequences.
