This system, formed over India’s Gujarat state, already generated widespread rainfall in Karachi and other Sindh districts on Tuesday. Karachi’s Old Airport area recorded the highest rainfall at 34mm, while PAF Faisal Base received 30mm, DHA 27mm, Gulshan Hadeed 25mm, Jinnah Terminal and Korangi 21mm each, Bahria Town 9mm, University Road and Keamari 8mm each. Other parts of Sindh also witnessed significant downpours. Sakrand received 41mm rain, Padidan 29mm, Mirpur Khas 27mm, Hyderabad City 23mm, Hyderabad Airport and Tando Jam 6mm each, while Dadu, Nawabshah and Thatta recorded light showers between 1mm and 2mm.

Meanwhile, Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority and the Met Office confirmed the development of a tropical depression over the northeast Arabian Sea, near India’s Gujarat coast. The system was located at latitude 22.5°N and longitude 68.8°E with estimated wind speeds ranging from 37 to 50 km/h near its center.

According to Oman’s National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, the tropical depression is expected to move westwards toward the central Arabian Sea and may intensify further within the next 48 hours. Authorities are closely monitoring the system’s path and impact as it develops.
