Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has denied reports about the closure of transport terminals in Islamabad, saying that all bus stations, including Faizabad, remain open and transport services are running normally.
At the same time, transport terminals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have been temporarily shut down as security authorities tighten measures ahead of a proposed second round of talks between Iran and the United States. Security forces have also suspended rent‑a‑car and tourism transport services in the twin cities as part of the restrictions.
The district administration has informed transport operators across the country and asked them not to issue tickets for travel to Islamabad and Rawalpindi until further notice. Public transport entering the twin cities through the motorway and GT Road has been barred to keep the area secure.
Officials said that goods and cargo transport may continue operating so essential supplies are not affected, with a final decision still under review. The security plan was approved during a meeting chaired by the chief traffic officer of Rawalpindi. In line with the government directives, Faisal Movers has temporarily suspended its Islamabad services and said that passengers will be informed once operations resume.
These measures aim to ensure smooth security arrangements during the high‑level diplomatic talks while limiting disruption as much as possible for daily commuters and businesses. Authorities have urged people to follow official updates and avoid unnecessary travel to the twin cities until the situation stabilizes.
