Govt cuts kerosene price by Rs63.60 per litre

The Government of Pakistan has announced a reduction in the prices of kerosene oil, light diesel, and jet fuel, following a recent increase in petrol and high-speed diesel rates.

Kerosene oil dropped by Rs63.60 per litre. Its new price stands at Rs365.21 per litre. Light diesel fell by Rs28.81 per litre. Buyers now pay Rs270.51 per litre. Jet fuel saw the biggest cut of Rs74.70 per litre. The revised rate is Rs396.31 per litre. Meanwhile, petrol prices rose by Rs26.77 per litre. The new cost reaches Rs393.35 per litre.

High-speed diesel also increased by Rs26.77 per litre. It now sells at Rs380.19 per litre. These changes took effect at midnight. They stay in place for the next week. According to the Petroleum Division’s notification, global oil market volatility triggered the adjustments.

The Petroleum Minister explained the moves. Regional tensions pushed up international oil prices again. As a result, Pakistan faces extra pressure on its market. He added that pricing deals with global partners force tough choices.

Households feel the mixed impact. Cheaper kerosene helps with cooking in rural areas. Lower light diesel eases farming costs. Jet fuel cuts benefit airlines. However, higher petrol and diesel hit vehicle owners and transporters.

Sources link the shifts to daily oil price checks. The government balances imports and local needs. Next week brings fresh reviews. People check pumps for updates. This keeps fuel affordable where possible. Pakistan watches world events closely.
