Solar Panel Prices massively Drop in Pakistan after Appreciation of Pakistani Rupee Against USD

KARACHI – Solar panel prices have massively reduced in Pakistan which gives Pakistanis a perfect time to invest in the panels.

The plates that were worth 15,000 PKR are not being sold at 10,000 PKR to 11,000 PKR. Solar panel prices have reduced due to the massive appreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the USD.

Many people in Pakistan were moving towards the renewable energy source as skyrocketing tarifs from the government were forcing them to. The high utility costs made many citizens turn from government supplied energy to their own self-generated energy.

A few panels on the roof are sufficient to run a small household. Moreover, reverse-metering gave the citizens another massive advantage as they could now sell the energy they made extra to the government and get paid for it.

However, as soon as the idea came, solar panel costs went sky high due to which  many of the remaining population could not produce their own energy.

New Solar Panel Prices in Pakistan

WattPrice Range
165 Watt Solar PanelRs11,000
260 Watt Solar PanelRs25,000 – Rs30,000
550 Watt Solar PanelRs35,000 – Rs45,000

The new costs show a significant reduction in the prices of solar panels in Pakistan. The reduction in prices can now favour many individuals to opt for solar panels. Moreover, this can also help Pakistan tackle the energy crisis.
