ISLAMABAD – Pakistan is all set to start a crackdown on Non-PTA patched phones starting early 2024. This new initiative comes in the wake of illegal patched phones.
PTA imposed heavy taxes on high-end devices and several other devices due to which Pakistani people are tuning to illegal ways.
Now, shopkeepers in Pakistan have started an illegal practice of tampering IMEI of mobile phones to evade the heavy PTA Taxes.
In this, individuals and shopkeepers alike removed the IMEI of the newer phone and replaced it with old Nokia phones. High-end devices like the iPhone 14 and Samsung S22 were using IMEI of Nokia phones.
This led the government to start a crackdown on the patched phones. All Non-PTA phones may actually be blocked by the government as they have let out news regarding this several times.
