Transgender School: Punjab Opens ‘Tahafuz Darsgah’ for Transgender Children at Lahore

PUNJAB – In a historic move, the first ever transgender school has been opened by CM Punjab Mohsin Naqvi by the name of Tahafuz Darsgah in Lahore.

The Tahafuz Darsgah is open for transgender children as a shelter and  school as the school will provide education for O levels and A levels.

The school located near Jallo park in Lahore boasts state of the art facilities and teachers for the provision of high-quality education.

CM Punab Mohsin Naqvi stated that the issues of transgender community  are usually overseen but the government will look relentlessly to facilitate them.

Even though the infrastructure is not huge, CM Naqvi states, “Tahaffuz Darsgah’s building might be small but its task is really big”.

CM and IG Punjab visited the institution’s classrooms to inspect it and stated that its a state environment for all transgender children.

Both individuals lauded the efforts of Dr. Anwar and CM Naqvi stated that, “Dr Anwar established various centres for the community and provided employment and several other opportunities to them”.

This ground-breaking initiative for this school is said to revolutionise the educational sector  for transgender community in Pakistan.
