Dead Chicken Meat Being Used in Shawarmas at Lahore, Director Punjab Food Authority Unveils

LAHORE – In shocking news, it has been uncovered that dead chicken meat is being used in food products across Lahore, Punjab especially in Shawarmas.

The Director General of Punjab Food Authority Muhammad Asim Javed stated that more than 80 kilograms of dead chicken meat was confiscated in the last 2 days.

Markets in Lahore are flooded with dead chicken meat and authorities have been doing operations for the last 2 days in Lahore.

According to sources, Muhammad Asim Javed also stated that a joint operation took place between the Punjab Food Authority and Food Department.

During the operation, he stated that more than 2500 kilograms of expired meat was confiscated on Sunday in a renowned market near Mughalpura.

He emphasised how this is a severe issue in Lahore as more and more people will succumb to such temptations to scam the general public.

He stated that numerous shops and markets are making use of dead animal meat and meat that is near its expiration time.

Furthermore, he also stated how during the Ramadan of 2023, Food Authorities confiscated an astonishing 1,000 kilograms of meat derived from dead animals.

DG Food Authority lauded the efforts by the authorities for doing massive raids (1800) in the last 2 months in several markets of Lahore.

During the raids, they confiscated some 20,000 kilograms of dead chicken meat while 70,000 kilograms of dead chicken meat has been confiscated just in the last 60 days.

The Director General stated that they have teams of Vets and food safety officers spread across Lahore for regular inspection of markets to ensure the safety and security of citizens at all costs.
