Pakistan’s oldest car maker Pak Suzuki embarked on new venture as the auto giant started exporting vehicles to Bangladesh and Afghanistan, in what is said to be company’s new achievements.
Shafiq Ahmed Shaikh of Pak Suzuki made the announcement in recent event, as he highlighted companies major milestones. First was vehicle exports to Bangladesh and Afghanistan, the production of company’s 2.5 millionth vehicle in Pakistan, and the launch of a new Suzuki Vendor Cluster Area. He said new area is designed to enhance efficiency and cut costs by expanding the network of local suppliers.
Despite these feats, Pak Suzuki addressed industry challenges, including misuse of import schemes for used cars, and stressed need for stricter enforcement to maintain market integrity. He also called for government collaboration to overcome barriers and achieve export targets under the Auto Industry Development and Export Policy (AIDEP).
Pak Suzuki officials also highlighted company’s localization efforts, which is around 70percent local content through strategic partnerships and technology transfers. It was said to be improved while annual production capacity and sales in bike market also improved.
The state run schemes like “Meri Garri Scheme” was also praised by Suzuki officials which were aimed at promoting affordable vehicles. He also commended Pak Suzuki for its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain commended Pak Suzuki’s achievements and its contribution to the automotive industry, emphasizing company’s role in job creation, economic growth, and technology transfer. He also assured that government will continue to support the automotive sector through policy measures and export promotion, expressing optimism about the industry’s future and Pakistan’s economic prospects.
