The second meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board was held on Thursday at the CDA headquarters, chaired by Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board held a session where key agenda items were discussed and approved, with all members in attendance. Several decisions aimed at enhancing Islamabad’s infrastructure and attracting investment were made during the meeting.
The board approved the auction of commercial plots across various categories to encourage investment in the city. Chairman Randhawa highlighted that these plots would be sold in two-year installments and must be equipped with essential amenities, free from encroachments.
In an effort to protect the environment during development, the board also greenlit the purchase of two tree transplanters. These transplanters will be used to relocate trees impacted by ongoing projects. Chairman Randhawa emphasized the urgency of finalizing the procurement process, noting that CDA previously relied on renting transplanters from other departments. The new equipment will speed up tree relocation to alternative sites.
Furthermore, the board approved the construction of a parking plaza adjacent to the Centaurus Hotel to address Islamabad’s growing parking demands. The plaza will also feature commercial shops for added convenience. Chairman Randhawa also directed the planning of another parking plaza in Sector I-8 to further accommodate the city’s increasing parking needs.
These projects aim to enhance urban infrastructure, promote commercial growth, and provide better services to Islamabad’s residents and visitors.
